Week of September 2nd - 6th, 2013

This week we learn about letters I, J, K and numbers 8, 9, 0.  In last week’s mini-book, we focused on the word the.  This week we’ll focus on is.  Encourage your child to go on a scavenger hunt for these words at home, at the grocery store, etc.

Next week Monday we will have our first letter recognition quiz, insha’Allah, on letters Aa-Hh.  Students will show that they can write the 5 letters I say in capital form.

In Math this week, we will count to 5 with one-to-one correspondence, make AB color patterns, and identify most and fewest on a graph.  In Science, we will review alive/not alive, and learn about the needs of living things (air, water, food, shelter).  On Thursday is the first science test.
